General FAQ

Q. What types of photography do you offer?

A. With a focus on coastal weddings, the majority of our work takes place at venues such as beaches, bays, harbors, marinas, and just about any other waterfront location! We specialize in working with couples who are truly and deeply in love, and photograph proposals, engagements, bridals, weddings and elopements, trash the dress sessions, and anniversaries!

Q. What areas do work out of? Do you travel?

A. We are based on the Eastern Shore, and regularly serve the DE, MD and VA beaches and beyond! Whether you're having a local or destination wedding, we happy to go to wherever your love takes us! Don't hesitate to inquire about LWP's special destination wedding rates!

Q. Do you shoot digital or film?

A. While we love film, and would shoot it solely if we could, both film and digital have it's advantages. We are hybrid wedding photographers, meaning we incorporate both mediums to create a beautiful, fine art gallery that blends seamlessly! You can expect your engagement session to be photographed primarily on film. On your wedding day, both digital and film will be used throughout, the available light determining the best times to use each.

Q. Are you insured?

A. Yes, of course! Business insurance is a requirement to work at many of our favorite venues. Rest assured that we have this all taken care of.

Q. Do you have a back up of your gear?

A. Absolutely! We come equipped with a variety professional quality gear, including full frame camera bodies and L-series lenses.

Q. How do we receive our photos?

A. Lifestyle sessions and weddings are both delivered via PASS - a beautiful, password protected online gallery where you can easily download high resolution photos or share online with friends and family!

Q. Do you offer prints, albums, etc?

A. Of course! We have carefully chosen the best professional photo labs and vendors, so that you receive unmatched quality. We offer everything from fine art prints to heirloom albums (one of our most popular products!), to gallery wraps and more. For more information or to place an order, don't hesitate to send us an email.

Q. Do I have to order prints through your lab?

A. To ensure that you receive only the best quality, we highly recommend ordering prints and/or products through us. That said, it is not required and there is no pressure to buy from us.

Q. Will we get featured in a magazine or wedding website?

A. Although many of our sessions or weddings do get published, it is not something we guarantee. Many editors look for unique weddings with lots of details!

Lifestyle FAQ

Q. Where do lifestyle sessions take place?

A. We are on-location photographers, meaning we will go wherever you like! We love it when our couples choose a location that holds a special meaning to them, such as the spot where your fiancé proposed, or where the two of you first met. There are so many beautiful locations on the beaches, bays and coastal towns of the Eastern Shore - if you need suggestions, don't hesitate to get in touch!

Q. What is an engagement session?

A. Engagement sessions are a perfect opportunity for us (your photographers) to capture your love story in a natural and relaxed way. Not only do you get beautiful photos out of it, but it gives us the chance to learn more about each other, you'll see how we work, direct and pose, and you'll have an opportunity to become more comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day! Not engaged? Already married? That's okay! We love photographing couples during all stages in their relationship! Need more info? Read a little bit more about engagement sessions and why you should have one!

Q. What is a bridal session?

A. A bridal session is a lifestyle session centered around the bride, usually scheduled about 2 months before your wedding day! Wear your wedding dress/veil, bring your bouquet and get pampered with your hair/makeup trial. It's a great way to test out your wedding day look, giving you ample time to make necessary adjustments before your big day! Traditionally, these portraits are given as gifts or shared as decor on your wedding day.

Q. What is a trash the dress session?

A. Most brides never get the opportunity to wear their dress again. To change that, some choose to have a trash the dress session. These sessions are a great opportunity to get additional bride and groom photos (you can never have too big a gallery of romantic portraits!). Since the wedding is over, there is no need to worry about getting the dress dirty from sitting or leaning, etc. Most often, towards the end of these types of sessions, the bride chooses to completely "trash the dress", all while getting carefree and artistic shots. Many couples will go in a pool, ocean or bay. Some will hike to a river. Others will get creative and have a paint fight - the possibilities are endless!

Q. What is a sweetheart session?

A. Holding a memory in tangible form speaks to the heart. We believe it is so important to have something physical to represent your love for each other, and know the value a single photograph can have. Our sweetheart sessions are essentially an upgrade to our lifestyle sessions. In addition to everything an engagement/anniversary session comes with, sweetheart sessions include 50 fine art prints stored in a beautiful heirloom box for you to display your images, all while keeping them safe! These keepsakes also make such a meaningful gift to pass down one day.

Q. What happens if it rains the day of the shoot?

A. If the weather is predicting more than a 30% chance of rain on the day of your lifestyle session, we are happy to reschedule for the next available date!

Wedding FAQ

Q. Do you photograph elopements?

A. Of course! There is something we find so romantic about elopements and we would be honored to capture yours! Please email us for pricing and availability.

Q. Do you photograph more than one wedding a day?

A. Absolutely not! Your wedding day is one of the most special times of your life, and we make yours a priority! This means no other sessions or events are scheduled for that date.

Q. Should we have a first look?

A. Deciding to have a first look is a personal decision, and one the two of you should make together. There is no right or wrong answer, so choose the option best for you! That said, we will always recommend having a first look - among many other reasons, they're so meaningful, create a much less rushed timeline, and give the opportunity a larger gallery. If you have questions regarding first looks, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Q. How much time should we set aside for our wedding day portraits?

A. When you're creating your timeline, we recommend reserving anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes for bride and groom portraits, which are one of our favorite parts of the wedding day! This does not include the time needed for formal portraits of the family or bridal party. By setting aside as much time as possible for this portion of the day, you're not only getting a beautiful collection of images, but it gives you an opportunity to spend some time alone together - just the two of you!

Q. What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

A. The day of your "I Do's", we shoot rain or shine. If it rains, we will make the best of it! That said, if you're having an outdoor wedding, it never hurts to have a plan B in place. I highly suggest clear top tents or Sperry tents (both of which are perfect even for a plan A!), and clear or white umbrellas for the bridal party.

Q. We think you are the perfect photographer for us! What do we do next?

A. It makes us so happy knowing that you think we're a great fit for each other! If you have any questions or would like to reserve your wedding date, get in touch using the form on the contact page above. We love getting to know each and every one of our couples and look forward to hearing from you soon!
